On Tuesday Debbie and I return to Kenya. We are going back so pumped because of all that God has done and for what lies ahead for 2009.

Every time we come home in the Fall, we always wonder if we will have enough resources to fill a 20 foot container. This year was no exception due to the economic climate and political situations last Fall. However, we are excited to report a 20 ft. container was too small and even the 40 ft. container we sent did not hold it all! Take a quick view of some of what you sent over to pastors:

  • Over 17,000 Bibles, concordances, commentaries, study books, inspirational books (Do we even need to list anything else? PTL!)
  • 78 computers, plus numerous printers, 50 flash drives, other electronic items
  • 2 Sound systems, 4 piano keyboards, electric guitars, amps, etc.
  • Large 18KW generator to power all of CMM, plus utility trailer
  • 84 metal folding chairs, 43 folding chairs with arms, over 100 wooden folding chairs, 43 padded chairs, 6 office desk chairs
  • 1 large copier (separates copies, fast, we think it even makes coffee!)
  • 2 small generators, 4 nail guns, 20 sheets ¾ birch plywood, pool/air hockey table, ping pong table, thousands of tapes, cd’s

We will hit the ground running as we go to Tanzania mid-February for regional meetings. Then the container will arrive (hopefully on time) and our first 2009 conference is in March. As of last week 300 pastors had already registered and paid their deposit. We have never had this response this early before a conference.

We are so thankful for your response and love for Kenya. We are returning filled with love and encouragement from so many; with funds to start the kitchen and dining building; with so many resources to place in a pastor’s hands. How do we say thanks to you that is more than just words on a piece of paper? Here’s how: we shall return to Kenya and help thousands of leaders and make an impact on the church in Africa and do it as your representatives. All for the glory of our King.

May the Lord enlarge the borders of your tent in 2009. May increase come to you from unexpected sources and places. Due to the ultimate bailout 2000 years ago, may you live above the fray, the worry and the anxiety in the land today and be a positive influence to those around you.
